SIMONETTA
Actor/Artist
Simonetta, born as Simona Gibejova on the 21st of July, 2000 in Slovakia. is a London-based actress and artist. At the age of 6, she heard a movie star on TV say that he always wanted to be an actor because it gave him the freedom to be anything, and Simonetta knew, without a doubt, that the path of an actor was her destiny.
Having moved to London at the age of 18 after graduating, Simonetta pursued her career in the performing arts. Since then, she has made notable appearances in various TV, film, and theatre productions.
In July 2021, she launched $imonettart, a design brand known for its edgy ideas and provocative ideas. Drawing has been one of Simonetta's first artistic passions. In 2021, her artworks were exhibited at the NIAS charity art exhibition
As a member of the Slovak Theatre London (STL), Simonetta co-created and performed the play "Extreme (The New Norm)" in both Slovak and English language. In the spring and summer of 2023, the company went on tour and performed in London, Manchester, Dublin, Brussels, Slovakia, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Camden Fringe Festival.
She received extensive acting and musical training
at The Private Conservatoire of Dezider Kardoš in Prešov, Slovakia. She also participated in workshops focused on Comedia del Arte, puppetry, and improvisation at the PAN mime festival in Slovakia.
During the first wave of the pandemic, she started creating homemade short films and experimental art house videos.
The very first one is titled "Window in a Cave," reflecting her anxiety rising from isolation. The film was selected by several international short-film festivals.
In her second short we can see a person at a party who is trying to stay sober, but willpower seems to lose in a battle with the night. The film, "Lie of my life," carries an unsettling atmosphere, and the guitar in the background only helps to maximize this cinematic experience.

Simonetta's most recent film is about invisible disabilities called 'Health is a Privilege,' which won an award for Best Costume Design at the Warwick Film Festival. The story is an abstract portrayal of a person who, after taking all sorts of medication, ends up with even worse pain. The repetitive sounds represent the terror and desperation of a disabled person, seemingly without end or resolution. The piano music during the 'money surgery' scene is composed by Simonetta.
Currently, she is transforming the film into a one-woman show accompanied by live guitar music.
